Phu Lang Thuong
Phu Lang Thuong is located 50km northeast of Hanoi cipital city. The name Phu Lang Thuong was originally the name of a Phu (equivalent to a district today) which headquarters are located on the Thuong river, in Bac Giang town today, at the end of the Le Trung Hung dynasty.
On 10th October 1895, Indochina Governor Rousseau signed a decree to set up a new province Bac Giang with it's capital as Phu Lang Thuong.
From a village at the end of the 20th century, Phu Lang Thuong has developed as a main city in the north and was renamed as Bac Giang township in 1962.
