Tho Ha ceramic village
Tho Ha ancient village is located on the bank of Cau river, Viet Yen district, Bac Giang province, Tho Ha village is one of the few villages that still retain the beauty of the ancient culture of northern delta. Tho Ha was once considered as one of the three centres of ancient ceramics in Vietnam along with Phu Lang and Bat Trang ceramic villages. According to genealogy of the village and the samples of artifacts Tho Ha village is one of the cradles of Vietnam pottery. Tho Ha used to be a bustling commercial port of Kinh Bac region. The prosperity of pottery had helped people build an architectural complex of temples, pagodas, the village gate, all are majestic.
People of Tho Ha village no longer works on the rice fields, they make a living by trading and making traditional food such as rice papers, crab cakes, coconut cakes...When the last artisan of the village passed away, pottery in Tho Ha is almost lost.
