Xuong Giang citadel
Xuong Giang ancient citadel is located in Xuong Giang commune, Bac Giang town, this is an old citadel built by Chinese invaders in 15th century.
Xuong Giang citadel was built by earth, the remnants reveals that the citadel is rectangular, the length in the East - west direction is 600 meters, the width in the north - south direction is 450 meters, total area 27 hectares, the wall was built with thick earch, with four fortresses at four corners surrounded by the moat, there are 4 gates with the main one looking westward.
Actual survey and records of the traces of this ancient citadel is not much, the wall above the fields around 3- 4 meters, 25 meters wide foot, the width from 16 to 20m, 4 corners have 4 fortresses jutting out, in addition to a trench system.
In the first excavation in 2008, archaeologists outlined the initial works of the system of ancient citadel Xuong Giang.
