Lim festival
Lim festival is a traditional festival organized every year in Lim township, Tien Du district, Bac Ninh province, about 18 km from Hanoi. The Lim festival is a unique cultural activity of the Quan Ho villages for centuries, Lim festival attracts people from all walks of life, a majority of whom are young girls and boys. This unique cultural event has become an invaluable asset in the folk treasure of Vietnam.
Lim festival takes place on 13th Lunar January, it opens with the procession, a large number of people wearing traditional costumes take part in the procession. The main part of the festival is the singing contest that takes place at noon and is organized with the artists singing from a boat rowing around the lake near Lim village, the small dragon boats carry the singers of all ages singing together.
The evening of 12th Lunar January is the singing competition between the villages in the area. Each village will set up a camp at the large yard of the Lim hill. This is the best part of the Lim festival.
