Ba Danh pagoda
Ba Danh pagoda has an area 10 hectares located in Danh hamlet, Kim Bang district, Ha Nam province, Ba Danh pagoda has it's front facing Day river.
Before August revolution, Ba Danh pagoda was far from residential areas, this place was covered by dense trees and few people came by. Every time people came to pagoda in the evening had to burn torches and beat drums to drive wild animals away, and thus there is a saying "as quiet as Ba Danh pagoda".
Ba Danh pagoda is also known as Bao Son pagoda. The original pagoda was built in 7th century, it was then only a small shrine, up until 17th century it was rebuit and upgraded under King Le Hy Tong.
The festival of Ba Danh pagoda is held every year from 9th - 11th Lunar January.
