Ba Danh pagoda
Ba Danh pagoda was said dated back to 7th century, it was then just a small shrine dedicated to Tu Phap (four spirits) and was rebuilt in 17th century under Le dynasty as a bigger pagoda. Local people saw the sacred pagoda on a beautiful place and brought Buddha statues in for worship. Ba Danh pagoda has a total area of 10 hectares with it's front side facing Day river.
People in Vietnam has a saying "Deserted as Ba Danh pagoda".There are many possible explanations for this statement but is supposedly the most accurate is Ba Danh pagoda located in an isolated place, far from residential are, three sides are rivers, jungles with wild animals. The only way to access the pagoda was across the river and that's why few people go there.
