Tay Phuong pagoda
Tay Phuong pagoda is located on Cau Lau hill of Thach That district, Hanoi. As the pagoda is on top of a 100 m hill, visitors have to climb 239 steps to reach the pagoda. Based on the low-to-high position, Tay Phuong pagoda was built in the shape of Tam letter with 3 parallel temples along the hillside. According to some books written about Tay Phuong pagoda, this pagoda was built under Mac dynasty however it was not proven.
Tay Phuong pagoda hs 72 statues made from Jackfruit wood. Many statues are carved in bigger human sizes such as 8 statues of Vajra and Dharmapala, about 3m high.
