Thanh Mai pagoda
Thanh Mai pagoda is in Chi Linh district, Hai Duong. This is one of the oldest pagodas in Hai Duong province. Thanh Mai pagoda was built on the side of Phat Tich mountain in 13th century. Thanh Mai pagoda is considered as a sacred place of Vietnamese Buddhism. Over the ups and downs, wars...most of the pagoda was destroyed, many ancient items were lost and stolen only the Vien Thong tower and 7 grave towers of the monks are left including Pho Quang tower, built in 1702, now some parts of the pagoda is being restored on the ground of the old Thanh Mai pagoda.
The winding road from the foot of the mountain to Thanh Mai pagoda is narrow and rugged, cutting through the red leave forest.
