Hai Phong train station is one of the main stations in north Vietnam, Hai Phong train station is the final passenger station on the railway from Hanoi to Hai Phong, in addition Hai Phong also has a railway running from Hai Phong port to other inland areas by rail.
Railway from Hanoi to Hai Phong was built by the French in 19th century after the capture of north Vietnam, the 102 km railway line linking 2 biggest cities in the north. On 1902 the system was official put into operation.
Currently Hai Phong station is one of the largest and most modern terminals in Vietnam, there are 4 journeys a day from Hanoi to Hai Phong and vice versa.
