Co Loa citadel
Co Loa complex relic is located in Dong Anh district of Hanoi, about 17km north of Hanoi city. Unlike other historical monuments, Co Loa is a complex of relics spreading over an extensive area with an area of nearly 500 hectares. Co Loa citadel relic is considered a special cultural site of Hanoi and Vietnam.
Co Loa used to be capital citadel of Au Lac Kingdom under King An Duong Vuong, 3rd century BC, and Dai Viet nation under King Ngo Quyen, 10th century when Co Loa citadel is a proven vestige that remains until today. Co Loa citadel is evaluated by archaeologists as the oldest building and unique structure in the history of ancient Vietnamese.
