Hang Dau water tower
Hang Dau water tower is located at the intersection of six streets Hang Dau - Hang Than - Quan Thanh - Phan Dinh Phung - Hang Cot and Hang Giay. In 1894, the water tower was built by stone from the scrap of Hanoi citadel. The tower looks like a fortress composed of three floors, 19m diameter circular cylindrical, 25m high, cone shaped roof, surrounded by small Gothic windows. In the tower, stone walls were built like spokes of a wheel, with door to go around. On these walls are water tank, called the water tower. Each tank can hold 1.250 m3 of water. Water from this goes straight into the city, where the French troops were stationed. This water tower was abandoned in 1954.
