Chua Mot Cot or One Pillar Pagoda is regarded as a cultural heritage of the capital city of thousand-year history.

In 1954, French troops withdrew from Hanoi and set explosives to blast One Pillar Pagoda with a huge bang. Later, the Hanoi authorities has restored the pagoda according to old style and is maintained until today.
