Mo Luong soldier cave
Located close to centre of Mai Chau townlet on the highway 15 is Mo Luong cave, in the Thai language means a big source of water. Mo Luong cave is in Phu Kha mountain, 60km north of Hoa Binh town, the main entrance to the cave is in Mai Chau and the back entrance is from Chieng Chau commune.
Mo Luong is a natural cave in the limestone mountains, Mo Luong cave is located in the valley with beautiful scenery by mountains and rivers and romantic Thai villages. Mo Luang cave has 2 entrances overlooking the rice fields and the villages in the valley. Located above surface of rice field about 5 to 7m, Mo Luong cave is carved deep into mountain with an area of over 500 meters, width from 1m to 30m. Vaulted ceiling with an average height of 10m, the highest place is 30m.
In the French war Mo Luong cave was used as a camp for Vietnamese solders to store food and weapons and Mo Luong cave is also called Soldier cave.
