Van Mieu Xich Dang
Xich Dang temple of Literature or Van Mieu Xich Dang is over 400 years old, it is the symbol of education of people in Pho Hien, Hung Yen province. Xich Dang temple is locaed in Lam Son ward of Hung Yen town, it is an important part of Pho Hien relics. Based on the remaining bells in the temple, Xich Dang temple was built in the 17th century on the ground of Xich Dang village. In 1831 when Hung Yen province was founded, Xich Dang became a provincial temple. It was restored in large scale in 1839 under King Minh Mang.
The most precious artifacts in Van Mieu Xich Dang is 9 steles, on the steles are the names of the winners of examinations in Hung Yen and Thai Binh provinces. In addition, two of the stone bells are ancient relics made in 18th century.
Festival of Xich Dang temple of Literature is held twice a year on 15th Lunar January and August.
