Deo Van Long mansion
Deo Van Long was a leader and lord of the Autonomous Region of Thai people in Indochina in the 19th century. His mansion was built at the intersection of Nam Na and Da rivers with it's back facing the mountain and front side was the river, a position that could observe all activities on land and water of Muong Lay area.
What remains showed that the architecture of the building is a combination of the architecture of the Thai stilt house of the French architecture. The main building was built two-storey with red brick, wooden floors, tiled roof is separated from the rocks, commonly known as rock paper. Around the house is the small cottages for people and soldiers, livestock stables...
The mansion had high walls of brick and stone over 3 meters high and 40cm thick, many loopholes. In front of the main house was a big yard for the King of Thai people opened parties, reception....Deo Van Long mansion is characteristic of the art of construction and fengshui of Thai people.
