Hang Tom bridge
For most adventurous travelers to north west Vietnam, Hang Tom bridge is really a wonder in the mountainous region, anybody coming to Lai Chau would stop and take a picture by the most beautiful bridge in the northwest. Hang Tom bridge was built in late 1960s and was officially completed in 1973. For a long time Hang Tom bridge played a crucial role in the traffic network of northwest region, it was one of the biggest suspansion bridge in south east Asia. Thanks to the magnificent landscape Hang Tom bridge provides a picturesque view of Nam Na river, especially in flood season.
With the construction of Son La hydro power plant Hang Tom bridge was pulled down and a new bridge has been built nearby.
