Mac Dynasty citadel
Mac dynasty citadel is located in Tam Thanh Ward, Lang Son town, it is the monument of military architecture reflecting the feudal time in Vietnam.
According to the remaining documents, the citadel is a major military base protecting the one way that connected the border pass built by King Mac Dang Dung in 16th century as a basis against Le - Trinh regime.
Remaining vestiges currently consists of 2 sections of 300m long wall, the surface of about 1m wide, built with large stone blocks between the canyon, although the relics was reinforced, restored, but retains the traces of the abandoned ruins.
Also there is a theory that this is not a citadel but that is a counter of troops, according to this hypothesis, the soldiers were sent here, and when the building is full they knew how many troops were.
Previously, the Mac Dynasty Citadel is defined for defense purposes. Currently the Mac Dynasty relics is rated as a National historic site and was invested, put into service for sightseeing.
