Temple of King Hung
Hung temple or temple of Hung Kings is located in Lam Thao district, Phu Tho province. 40.000 years ago, the land of Phong Chau was reckoned as capital of ancient Vietnam country and Hung Kings are considers as the founder of the nation, ancestors of Vietnamese people.
Temple of Hung Kings is composed of 4 buildings, upper temple is located on mountain top, middle, lower temples and Gieng temple are on the hill side.
18 Hung Kings are worshiped in the temple and 3 mountain spirits, legend has it that the Kings had travel all around the country before choosing Phong Chau as the capital.
Hung temple festival is held on 10th lunar March, hundreds of thousands of Vietnamese pay a visit to the temple this time. Hung temple was rated as the national special relic in 1962.
