Sam Son town
Sam Son is a coastal town in Thanh Hoa province. Sam Son town is a 3rd class provincial town and is a well-known beach destination in northern Vietnam. Sam Son was recognized as a provincial city ub April 2017.
Sam Son is 16 km east of Thanh Hoa city. The natural area is about 45 km2 (statistics of 2015), Sam Son is located on the alluvial plain, under 50 meters altitude. In the north it is bordered by Hoang Hoa district; Quang Xuong district to the south, the Gulf of Tonkin to the north. Population of Sam Son in 2017 is 150,902, mainly Kinh.
