Na Hang reservoir
Na Hang reservoir is located in Na Hang townlet, 110 km from Tuyen Quang town, it is an attractive eco tourism destination in Tuyen Quang province. Na Hang hydro power plant is built in Gam river, it is the second biggest power plant in north Vietnam, the biggest is Hoa Binh power plant.
Na Hang reservoir covers 3 provinces Tuyen Quang, Ha Giang and Bac Kan with a total water surface 8000 hectares. Ha Hang reservoir is on the mountain area, surrounded by limestone mountains and primeval forests, the whole area is filled with a green color of trees and water.
Na Hang in the language of ethnic Tay people means "the last rice field". Before the power plant was built, it took several days to reach Na Hang from Tuyen Quang town via 100 km bad road. Now travelers can drive in just 2 hours.
Since the Na Hang hydropower reservoir is put into operation, this place gradually became a romantic destination with 99 majestic mountains. Thus the Na Hang is also referred to as "Ha Long bay in the woods".
Over the past years, eco tours on the lake was organized. It takes about 6 hours for a trip around the lake with total length 70 km, you will have a chance to soak up the natural landscape here, learn about the legend associated with each site. From fantastic Mo waterfall to Tat Ke - Ban Bung nature reserve with thousands of flora species to Khuay Sung, Khuay Nhi waterfalls, Phia Vai cave where there are two burial monuments and ruins of the fire 10,000 years old or Tham Choong grotto, residence of the privitive men thousands of years ago.
