Truc Lam zen monastery
Truc Lam Tay Thien Zen Monastery is located in Dai Dinh Commune, Tam Dao District, about 85 km west of Hanoi. Together with Truc Lam Zen Monastery and Truc Lam Yen Tu Monastery, Tay Thien Truc Lam Zen Monastery is one of the three biggest monasteries in Vietnam.
Coming to Tay Thien Truc Lam Zen Monastery, tourists are fascinated by the beautiful wild nature. The mountain rises up into the sky covered by dark green forest with many old trees. The Truc Lam monastery grows in the midst of thousands of trees as it expands the path of meditation to bring people to the spiritual world.
Built on an ancient Thien An pagoda, with an area of 4.5 hectares and 50 hectares of peripheral forest, lies about 300 meters above sea level. From the main hall, the guesthouse, the display house, Tam Quan gate, the bell tower...to the inner chambers are unique in style of Asian architecture. The octagonal gallery is located on the hill and a 35m high Buddha statue.
Standing at the Monastery, visitors will enjoy cool fresh space with soaring hills, blooming flower gardens. Road up the mountain is built with concrete so visitors traveling by motorbike or car can go up to the gate. If you want to see the Zen Monastery from the bottom up, you can walk like a mountain climber.
