Luc Yen gemstone market gathers at a pretty good location at the corner of Luc Yen district centre, about 70km north of Yen Bai town. The gemstone purchases in this market is mined on the land of Luc Yen district, prices range from several dollars to tens of thousands of US dollars. The market opens all days of the week however the busiest time is in the morning and most crowded on Sundays. There are about 40 stalls in the market and all sellers are women who have been with the market since it was formed.
