Suoi Giang tea garden
Suoi Giang is a mountainous commune in Van Chan District, Yen Bai Province. Located at an altitude of nearly 1,400 meters, Suoi Giang's climate is cool all year round. However most tourists to Suoi Giang to enjoy special tea named Shan Tuyet tea trees hundreds of years old.
Suoi Giang is not the only place to own ancient tea trees but considering both quantity and age nowhere could be compared to Suoi Giang. Thousands of ancient tea trees over 100 years old, some over 300 years old classified in one of six ancestral tea trees of the world.
One year Shan Tuyet tea is harvested in 3 seasons with the last one usually around lunar August to September, this is ideal time to enjoy a cup of Shan Tuyet tea and the cool atmostphere, you can drive a motorbike from centre of Van Chan district over 12 km through the amazing mountain cliffs and pristine forests to Suoi Giang. In addition to Shan Tuyet tea, Van Chan is also known for the pure beauty of the H'mong colorful girls, glutinous rice in Tu Le and Muong Lo.
